Hi there,
I’m glad you’re here!

I’m Dorsa, a dedicated counselling therapist, educator, and public speaker living and working on the unceded territories of the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish, and Musqueam Nations.

My journey has been a tapestry of meaningful experiences rooted in my passion for connecting with people and advocating for social justice through anti-oppressive practices. Whether engaging in human rights activism in Iran, establishing a grassroots organization to support refugees in Turkey, or working with the inner-city population in Alberta and Ontario, my path has been a commitment to making a positive impact.

Now, as a counseling therapist in Vancouver, I bring a wealth of experience to my practice. I've walked alongside individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, addiction, and the challenges of disruptive trauma symptoms such as BPD and psychosis. My therapeutic approach is a mosaic of understanding and empathy, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.

My journey has led me to collaborate with diverse communities, including the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and racialized individuals. I believe in the power of creating a safe and affirming space for individuals to explore their unique narratives, fostering healing and personal growth. So, if you're seeking a compassionate ally on your journey towards wellness, I'm here for you. Let's embark on this transformative process together, navigating the complexities of life with empathy, understanding, and a shared commitment to your well-being.

I see therapy as a collaborative dialogue.

I hold the belief that establishing a secure and nurturing space is crucial for our therapeutic conversations to be empowering. Within this safety, we can delve into unexplored thoughts and emotions, unraveling potential sources of anxiety, stress, unhealthy behavioral patterns, and more. Together, we can navigate these aspects with care and understanding, fostering a path towards healing and growth

I use a variety of therapy methods such as:

  1. Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

  2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with special certification to use CBT for trauma

  3. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  4. The Gottman Method

  5. I am also a LENS Neurofeedback practitioner

On a personal level, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, immersing myself in nature, dancing, playing board games, traveling, connecting with my community, and playing music. Aside from that, I enjoy learning new things. I am currently learning to play the Daf and Tombak, traditional cultural drums from Iran.

Let’s talk.
